#1 our M*A*S*H beers are now on tap. Malt And Single Hops are where we get the AWESOME names from. The first (Donald Sutherland as Hawkeye Pierce) is a Jester Hop Extra Pale. It is a fruitier hop that is the UK attempt at an American style hop. Notes of tart strawberry, slight passion fruit, and light hints of traditional UK earthiness. A really fun fresh hop.
The second (Elliot Gould as Trapper John) is a fusion hop Extra Pale. Fusion is a really interesting hop. It's a blend. At the end of the experimental growing season, after all analytics are done, all the hops are blended together into a single pellet (Fusion!)...it's different every year, and always fun to see whats happening.
#2 Summer Ale moves out at as we speak on draught in Calgary and will be hitting shelves in bottles next week! It's amazing this year! Don't forget the launch on June 11th at 2pm...at Container Bar!
#3 Look for some really fun bottles coming down the line!
#4....Big event news on Wednesday.....
Updates from Dandy...
Bright Young Things: English Summer Ale is back at the start of June! Look for it on tap and in your favourite bottle shops! It will be officially kicked off with a launch party on June 11th with a Container Bar Patio Party! More details to come....
We will be tapping exclusive new Extra-Pale Ales in a couple weeks featuring Jester hops, and Fusion hops...both exclusive to Dandy Brewing Company this year. Very unique, very great....keep an eye out to social media for exact tapping dates!
With the warm weather upon us, we will be extending opening hours in a few weeks as well.
All for now,
A month (or so) later and news is ready....
First off, we are very excited to announce a Three-Way collaboration with FallenTimber Meadery, WildRose Brewery, and Us! It'a a yet-to-be-named Honey/Ginger/Lime Kettle sour. It's an extra special beer, being poured at Calgary International Beerfest!
We are now 19 beers into 40 for the year (will we crush the record?). Some treats coming down the line are a Cascadian Dark Ale, a Proper English Mild, A Raspberry Hibiscus Gose, a Szechuan Belgian Blonde and more! Keep an eye out!
Finally, we'll be in Brooks this weekend for the Brooks Beer Bonanza and then it will be on to Calgary International Beerfest May 7th and 8th!
Until next time...
The Dandy Brewing Company prides itself on its ingenuity, unique size, and exciting styles. Taking full advantage of these qualities, Brewmaster Dylan Nosal has set his sights high, looking to brew 40 new beers throughout the 2016 calendar year.
It's been a strong start so far, with 9 beers coming out in the first two months:
an English IPA
two different West Coast/American style IPA's (The T2E IPA)
a dark mild
a Sour with ginger
a petite rye Grisette
a dark dry hopped sour
a dry stout
- a Belgian strong ale
Be sure to check back to the Dandy Brewing Company Website regularly to keep up with all the beers hitting the taps, beer engine, and shelves! The race to 40 is on!
A big week for Dandy. This week we finally hung our sign (almost exactly 2 years since our incorporation), as you can see we have also launched our website. Check it out. It works way better.
